The crew here at Media Innovations Blog are excited about 2011 with all the incredible things that are happening with media innovations. Last year saw the DSLR revolution, with the DSLR cameras being widely adopted for filming Television commercials, Music videos, Film and TV shows. They even filmed one episode of House on a DLSR!
Along with the DSLR revolution we’ve seen companies like RED, Sony and Panasonic bringing out cameras with large sensors that are affordable. And we’ve seen smaller cameras like the Go Pro’s, Kodak and Sony’s hand held high def cameras, and even the Iphone 4 has a 720p camera built into it.
There’s even a rig out there so to shoot stereoscopic 3D on two iPhones. There’s a whole range of great little high def cameras that are really affordable. Some, like the Go Pro, can even shoot underwater, so you can film yourself surfing or snorkeling.
We’ve also recently seen the release of the RED EPIC cameras, which shoot 5K raw files! With all of the innovation in cameras, getting that cinematic look is far more accessible for the indie filmmakers out there.
We’ve also seen a range of devices and app’s released to make our digital film making lives a bit easier. There are heaps of apps out there for filmmakers with Iphones like pCam, which does a range of things including calculating your Depth of Field. Personally, I was a bit skeptical when the Ipad come out. I couldn’t see that it would be of use to filmmakers. But I was wrong. The Ipad (and the dozens of other tablets out there) has a range of apps including a slate, autocue and even final draft for Ipad. But the biggest advantage of these tablets would have to be for pitching. Having one small device where you can show your reel, sizzle reel and have all of your documentation is really handy.

Very nice article and right to the point. I am not sure if this is really the best place to ask but do you folks have any thoughts on where to get some professional writers? Thanks in advance
Lots of excellent reading here, thank you! I was seeking on yahoo when I observed your post, I’m going to add your feed to Google Reader, I look forward to a lot more from you.
With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my authorization. Do you know any solutions to help prevent content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.
Are you making this up as you go along?
After reading your blog post I browsed your website a bit and noticed you aren’t ranking nearly as well in Google as you could be. I possess a handful of blogs myself and I think you should take a look here: http://seopressors.org You’ll find it’s a very nice tool that can bring you a lot more visitors. Keep up the quality posts
I would like to thnkx for the efforts you’ve put in writing this web site. I am hoping the same high-grade site post from you in the future also. Thanks. It looks like an interesting film. Maybe I can watch it this weekend, but I think my boyfriend wants a break from all these movie nights
